Maintenance

We use the software we write to run our organization. There is some new development, but most of our work is maintenance-oriented. The challenge we face is to add or change features in an existing application that you didn't write without breaking existing functionality. TDD

The Role

Our average team size is 3-5, composed of developers, testers, and business representatives. The business decides which features should be implemented and in what order. Evariant is building a next generation Healthcare Data Hub for patient and physician engagement that will improve outcomes for patients and hospitals across the country.  This hub is the heart of Evariant's own applications and will one day power partner applications as well.  As Senior Platform Engineer, you will help design and implement the core of this big-data platform that will change the way healthcare is delivered.  This is not your typical database-driven CRUD application, it's a platform that needs to scale into the terabytes of data, including ingesting and matching that data and taking action in real-time, and that has to meet strict HIPAA privacy and security requirements.  If you want to build robust, secure solutions at scale, this is the place to do it.

The Zalando Platform team is responsible for developing & operating our internal PaaS. In order to scale fast we use lightweight container virtualisation and infrastructure automation. Scaling our applications horizontally helps us to ensure high availability, performance and efficiency.

We work in small, agile and multidisciplinary teams with approximately 5-10 people who continuously improve our platform. We are growing and are looking for someone who will develop the next generation cloud platform with us. This is full-time position, starting as soon as possible in our office in the centre of Berlin.
